Moon Dog Park is a local favorite for dog owners in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania, offering a convenient and enjoyable space for pups to play and socialize. Located at 1845 Beaver Grade Rd, this pet-friendly park boasts accessible facilities with wheelchair access and dedicated parking. It’s the only fully enclosed dog park in the area, making it an ideal spot for both residents and those visiting nearby Pittsburgh International Airport. Visitors will notice the occasional low-flying plane overhead, giving this park a unique ambiance!
This park separates small and large dogs into their own designated areas, letting dogs of all sizes safely enjoy their time off-leash. Agility equipment is available, encouraging active play and helping dogs work off their energy. The park operates dawn to dusk, except Mondays and Tuesdays when it’s closed. Temporary lighting has been noted, but the park generally relies on natural daylight. Ample space, social vibes, and the opportunity for pets and owners to connect make Moon Dog Park a community staple for dog lovers seeking an accessible and safe space close to home.
Nice dog park, though be aware it is very close to the airport and planes will fly low overhead as they approach its runway.
With this really being the only enclosed dog park that’s close to relatives. The fact that it’s closed on Monday’s and Tuesday’s just because makes 0 sense. My dog was having energy bursts that could not be released on a walk due to him wanting to run.
It’s so nice to have a resource like this in Moon for dogs! Both of my dogs really enjoy going there. They socialize, use the obstacle courses, and run off their energy! It’s also nice to meet other dog owner/lovers there!
Edit to my previous review:
Still closed Monday and Tuesday. Its supposedly open ‘dawn till dusk’ but I frequently take my dogs at the ~7am timeframe hoping to get some morning zoomies out and it’s never unlocked at dawn. It appears they have added some temporary lighting, but I have not been there to see it in use.
10mo ago:
It’s closed on Monday and Tuesday and not open all hours.
It’s also not lit up at all, because of being open only dawn to dusk.
They separate dogs under 30lbs and dogs over 30lbs.
Its smaller than I’d have liked to have seen – even though there is plenty of adjacent space entirely unused…. I usually take my dog to the soccer fields when they aren’t in use (and yes I clean up after) and thats way bigger than this area that is for multiple dogs to use at once.
Just landed in Pittsburgh and after a 4 hour flight my dogs were ready to run around for a bit. Great place!
