This is a great local dog park where your dogs can run freely and have a good time. There are not too many Karen’s or Chads that go here, so it’s pretty relaxed. Just make sure to use the free provided bags to pick up after YOUR dog.
Nice big spaces with running water. Shelter over two of the the tables on the big dog side but zero shade on the small dog side.
First the positives: it’s a big park with a great group of regulars. We’ve been bringing our dog here for a few months and he absolutely loves it.
But there’s a big negative: all the gravel. Most dog parks are entirely grass or dirt. This park has a bunch of loose gravel trails throughout it and a big patch of it surrounding the concrete under the shelters. Dogs running on gravel can injure their paws, and this is a place for dogs to run. There’s no reason for this. We’ve had to be careful about coming here because our dog has torn up his paws on the gravel after even just a little bit of running.
PLEASE take this out.
Not sure if they rotate these out as one gets too muddy, but both park 1 and 2 are roughly the same size. We typically use the big dog side as we have a moose-sized doodle. So far, everyone we’ve met there is nice and the dogs not aggressive. I’ve heard anecdotes about people bringing aggressive dogs, but have yet to encounter it myself. All in all, they are both pretty nice off-leash parks.
