Located just blocks from the ocean, Ingram Dunes Nature Preserve offers a unique experience for dog owners seeking pet-friendly trails in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This 7-acre wooded area features meandering loop trails surrounded by one of the highest publicly accessible dunes along the entire Carolina coast. The preserve is well-loved for its peaceful ambiance, interesting wildlife, informational plaques, and rare shade among the natural landscape – all within a convenient neighborhood setting.
While not a traditional fenced dog park, Ingram Dunes is a fantastic destination for dog-friendly hiking and walking. Visitors often note the tranquil environment, making it a perfect spot to walk your leashed dog, enjoy birdwatching, and explore natural habitats. The park is also kid-friendly, providing a great family outing.
Quiet walk on meandering trails in the middle of a neighborhood. Dogs loved it.
Nice trails with good info signs.
Fun to find this private wooded area of 7 acres worth of natural trails that loop around- just a few blocks down from the beach! I read that these Ingram Dunes are one of the highest publicly accessible dunes along the entire Carolina coast! Also happen to be the only natural system/open green space left in the city of North Myrtle Beach, so the dunes are important to keep for functions with stormwater filtering, place for wildlife etc.
My husband and I were so thrilled to come across this wonderful place. Thank you to whoever owns and maintains the preserve. You are appreciated. This preserve provides a habitat for wildlife, a place of peace for humans, shade (which is surprisingly hard to find,) and a reminder of how devastating the overdevelopment of this area is.
Pretty neat little place. Called the last natural area in North Myrtle Beach. There are plaques with information on the natural habitat which is informational. Check it out, hike around, and learn something new. 🤩
