If you’re traveling along I-95 and looking for a convenient stop, the Dog Park at Love’s Travel Stops offers a quick break for your furry friend. This dog park in Dillon, South Carolina features a fully fenced-in area with a secure gate, making it suitable for off-leash play. Picnic tables are available for owners to relax while their dogs get a bit of exercise—perfect for stretching legs after a long car ride.
While the park provides necessities like poop bag dispensers and trash bins for convenience and cleanliness, it’s worth noting the play surface consists of gravel and rocks rather than grass, which some dogs may find uncomfortable. The small area is best for a quick rest stop, not extended play sessions. With easy, wheelchair-accessible parking and a location just off a major route, the dog park is especially handy for travelers passing through Dillon.
I wonder what genius came up with the idea to put rocks inside the dog park. Yea sure, Take ur shoes off and walk on that and tell me it doesn’t hurt ur feet… SmH…
Was looking for a dog park after a 20 hr car ride and came upon this “dog park” It is gated but is all rocks and no grass.
Big and sharp rocks that were too hard for my dogs to walk on. Maybe if you have bigger dogs they won’t care. It’s a bummer because we picked this stop for the park. Seems like a silly choice for a dog park floor, since everywhere else is grass. Hope they can correct it. It would be nice to use.
I wouldn’t really call this a “dog park.” I mean, it’s nice that this is there, but we picked it out of several options along our route because it had 5 stars and was close to the interstate, so we were pretty disappointed. It’s just a four-foot chain link fence around maybe 15×20 ft of gravel that is much too hot for bare paws. We ended up just walking our pup on leash in the grass.
Nice little dog park with picnic tables, poop bags and trash cans.
