Lakeside Bark Dog Park is a pet-friendly destination located right in Mayville, NY. Set near the scenic lakeside, this dog park offers a convenient spot for dog owners seeking a quick visit with their pets or a relaxing stroll by the lake. While the park is kept clean and is known for its accessibility—including wheelchair accessible parking—you’ll find the overall park footprint to be on the smaller end, making it especially suitable for quick, shorter visits.
This dog park is fenced and welcomes dogs, providing a safe and secure environment for off-leash play. However, visitors should note there’s limited shade and currently no water fountains or dedicated water bowls available onsite, so bringing your own water for your pup is advised. Owners have observed that the park is best suited for small or tiny dogs. While the park may not have the size or amenities of larger regional dog parks, it offers a simple, clean area for local pet owners to let their dogs stretch their legs and socialize.
This “dog park” is a sad mistake. While perfectly fine for tiny/small dogs, the “large” dog side is a pathetic joke.
Large dog owners need space for their dogs to run, chase a ball more than 50 feet, a two entrance gate system, and, ideally, running water onsite. People take their dogs to a dogpark to exercise, socialize their dogs, and, socialize with other dog owners. A successful dogpark turns into a family.
Whoever designed Mayville’s dog park has obviously never been to a successful dog park – check out the one in Lakewood! Size is the biggest issue here – Mayville constructed a glorified outdoor kennel that doesn’t even come close to serving the needs of dog owners.
