Bentley Nature Preserve is a natural, scenic dog park located in Jamestown, NY. This preserve is very pretty to walk through with a lot of foot bridges, however, I rated only 3 stars because it neighbors the Southern Tier Expressway, which is noisy throughout the entire hike. The hike is short as well. Other than that,..it’s a pretty place to visit.
Loved the trail and the wooden structures to walk on during rainy/muddy days. Maintained but still wild and natural with lush greenery.
Some ignorant drunk pulls in and tells me I need to leave. There’s nothing anywhere stating any hours or usage times. I said ok and honestly didn’t have an issue leaving but her attitude and behavior was disgusting. She literally went and parked her truck (Ljd 1833) on the road knowing the other direction isn’t an outlet, trying to make me pass her so she could follow me. So I waited to pull onto the road. Then she goes and parks in the nearest driveway so I pulled out and yep- she followed me until the intersection. With high beams. I honestly can’t believe it. I’ve never experienced anything like this before. I looked it up online and that’s where it does say it’s closed dusk to dawn. That seems like some pretty important information, maybe to put on a sign? If it was on a sign I wouldn’t of parked.
Nice little quiet place with trails through the woods and bridges to cross. Lots of unique vegetation, too. I enjoyed my hike here!
Loved this trail for a short winter hike. There were picturesque snow scenes along the stream. There was a fair amount of snow but snowshoes were not required. It was pretty quiet but you could hear some distant road noise and a few birds. Took me about a 1.5 hours stopping a bunch of times for photos.
