If you’re searching for a dog-friendly hiking adventure in Turtletown, TN, Rock Creek Trailhead is a scenic spot nestled at the entrance to the Little Frog Wilderness area. This pet-friendly trail welcomes dogs, making it a great choice for hiking with your furry companion. The trails offer beautiful mountain views and a peaceful walk along Laurel Creek, with the option for a longer trek to Rock Creek.
Although there isn’t a traditional fenced dog park, the trailhead provides a natural outdoor experience that’s particularly appealing for dogs and owners who love exploring off the beaten path. Parking is available at the trailhead, but keep in mind it is small and not wheelchair accessible. The trails are largely natural, so be prepared for creek crossings and some areas that may need brush clearing. If you’re looking for an off-the-leash adventure in nature, this is a fantastic local option.
Trail was fairly easy but did need some maintenance for brush cleaning. We had to climb over a big brush pile that had been there a while. I would also suggest some water resistant shoes for crossing the creek
Fun and beautiful trail. The trailhead has been cleared of a fallen tree and that makes parking a breeze.
Beautiful views the off surrounding mountains the entire hike
The only roadside trailhead into the Little Frog Wilderness area. Parking lot is small and trashy but most of the trails are clean of trash. Much longer hike if you go all the way to Rock Creek or continue past Rock Creek and meet up with BMT at Dry Pond Lead.
