Conasauga Falls Trail offers a natural and scenic environment in Tellico Plains, TN, ideal for dog owners looking to enjoy outdoor trails with their pets. This location provides a beautiful setting for walks and exploration, surrounded by nature’s tranquility.
Not an easy trail. We had to do a lot of rock climbing and the trail is very narrow and non existent in places. I fell down a embankment after losing my footing and hurt my arm but glad I kept going. A lot of climbing over rocks. It is downhill 95% of the way with switchbacks. The falls themselves were so beautiful. Worth it. The water was low but can’t wait to return again and swim one day. Going back was very hard and strenuous. Do not recommend for anyone out of shape, elderly, or children. Do recommend proper shoes, hiking stick, and fluids. Definitely an accomplishment and I deserve a damn gold medal for completing it. Going to be very sore tomorrow from falling.
Trail is moderate-easy. Listed as moderate due to uneven surface, stairs & elevation change. Listed on the easy side of moderate due to short length. You will be rewarded with a nice up close view of a waterfall after a short trip down to the stream.
This trail was very short and probably not the best for older people and you need good shoes because part of the trail is very narrow and you have to climb up and down rocks and tree roots. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because of how short the trail is considering I drove almost 2 hours from Chattanooga, TN. The road leading up to it is pretty rough for about 3 miles so you need to be careful especially in a sedan. On the other hand though the waterfall was a 10 out of 10, super beautiful.
Me and family took the trail down to the falls today. It’s not a very short hike down. But the waterfalls are beautiful. It’s very secluded, there was no one there. Again, it’s a hard hike down and an even harder hike back up. You’re basically going down a mountain and then going back up. I’m a big guy and out of shape, so I was worried about going back up. I made it, but with several breaks to catch my breath. So please, be warned, if you are not in the best of shape, you may want to reconsider hiking down. But hope you can make it down and back up because it’s worth it.
This place is gorgeous. But be warned: though the hike is short, it has slippery rocks and steep drops and is definitely NOT an easy hike for kids (though it is labeled as such). The only kids it was easy for was the ones we had to carry. The hike is down hill all the way to the falls and a tedious, thigh pumping incline all the way back. Bring water.
