This is a wonderfu,l relatively under used trail. It is quiet and a restful hike. There is a couple of good swimming areas. Used the buddy system because there are no lifeguards.
This is a nice gem of a trail. Parking lot has lots of room and is rarely busy. Several swimming holes in rock creek are accessible along the first mile of the trail. When the trail splits and heads up to upper Leggett it forms a nice loop that is very doable with kids.
Moderately challenging hike to walk the full loop and out to the Rock Creek Overlook. The scenery is beautiful though and totally worth the effort.
This trailhead has options. There is a short paved handicap accessible loop trail available. It has options to hike the Rock Creek Loop trail as well.
Beautiful trails along the creek. A little narrow in some spots. Dogs and I loved it!
