Located at 140 Bud Hogan Dr, the Old Fort Dog Park is quickly becoming a favorite spot for local pet owners seeking a welcoming space for their furry friends to play and socialize. Although still new to the community, this dog park in Old Fort, NC, has already gained positive feedback from visitors, who appreciate its dedicated area for dogs to roam, play, and enjoy some off-leash freedom. Volunteers and dog owners have helped keep the park tidy, making use of available doggie bags, trash bags, and even leaving behind chairs and toys for everyone’s enjoyment.
One unique feature noted by early visitors is the friendly, community-driven vibe—locals sharing water, toys, and seating to enhance the experience for both pets and humans. While the park has some shaded seating over the picnic table, additional shade would be beneficial for the hot North Carolina summers. This space stands out for those looking for pet-friendly trails and a supportive community atmosphere, making it a must-visit dog park in Old Fort, NC.
It’s an absolute need in town. It is a great little park. People had been keeping up with doggie bags, trash bags, bottled water and some even leaving toys and chairs for the humans.
It needs some shady areas, besides the one over the picnic table, because it will be hot out there this summer and dogs needs shade too.
Many in town are anxious for it to be officially open.
