What a pleasant surprise! A well-cared for park with separate fenced areas for large and small dogs. Lots of shade; benches for dog parents; covered picnic area; fresh water, and a large plastic pool for dogs to cool off in. Right next to a playground with restroom area.
Part field of grass, typical of most dog parks, Astro is not your typical dog park. Walk down to the end of that field (large breed enclosure), and look left.
Passing through the gate into the “working” dog part of park. Portal into a whole new level of doggie delights. Pooches are bounding through the Moon of Endor, ready to engage the first Ewok that falls from the thick canopy above.
After a good few days of rain look for a turtle to plunge into the creek every 30 seconds or so.
Not a bad experience yet.
Bigfoot enjoyed it thoroughly. Visited numerous times Summer 2021.
Putting a better dog fountain within both enclosures on a wish list.
We love this dog park. It’s always clean and stocked. There is an area for small dogs, and a separate area for large dogs. They also have at least 2-3 acres of wooded land that is fenced for taking your fur babies on the trails and in the woods off leash without fear of losing them. Is an awesome park!
Massive fenced in dog park. They have an area for small and large dogs. The large dog area has a couple of holes in the fence where dogs can get out so keep that in mind.
This place is awesome!! If you walk to the back of the big dog area there is a gate/entrance that says, “Working Dog Area”. If you go through it, your dog then has a large enclosed natural area with streams, trails, etc where they can just run around and play and swim!! My only caution is there a couple of spots that is deep enough your dog actually has to swim /paddle to get through it but I must say they are very small and minimal especially compared to all the other streams or water areas that aren’t that way! It won’t disappoint I promise!!
