A beautiful slow moving crik to splash in or kayak down. Good place to rock hunt but keep an eye out for snakes.

We really enjoyed this park. We basically spent most of the time hiking the trail and looking for geodes. They are EVERYWHERE….everyone found a bunch. If the weather would have been warmer we likely would have let the kids play in the water also.

Bugs are terrible, awesome little nature spot and pretty safe to bring ur littles. But be careful of snakes in the summer time!!!

Fell off a large cliff and broke both knee caps and my elbow the first time here (poorly marked signs to get to the river). Returned a year later for some great geodes and wildlife.

Still have 1 good elbow so will likely be back again.

As far as the park goes, it’s a park.. I went because the park has a campground … so that is what my review is based on.
I’ve spent 3 years traveling the country and stopping at places to camp and this is the first NULL.00 city park campground that I’ve ever come across. There is electric and a dump station ( which is NULL if not camping ) there is a nice Frisbee golf course and a few play areas .. but there is no geode collecting allowed ( signs are posted ). There is a shower and toilet that those who are camping can use but it is a long but walkable distance from the campground and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t lock the door .. so I was not able to use it. The parking pads are level and the picnic tables are not .. it was impossible to find the rate online but I never would have gone if I knew they were NULL.
