Granby Dog Park stands out as one of the best dog parks in Granby, CT, offering a fun, safe, and well-maintained environment for dogs and their owners. Located by Salmon Brook Park and McLean Game Reserve, this dog park is wheelchair accessible, features picnic tables, and even has access to popular pet-friendly hiking trails and a brook that dogs love for swimming. The park’s mulch surface is regularly maintained by dedicated volunteers, and there’s a strong sense of community among dog owners here.
People love bringing their best buddies to Granby Dog Park not only for the clean, friendly space but also because there’s a special dog swim area—hugely popular in season! Owners enjoy the seating areas, picnic tables, and shady spots, while the park’s access to hiking trails makes it a standout for those seeking outdoor adventures with their pets. Please note that for safety, children under eight are not allowed inside the dog run area due to active play from the dogs.
Too bad dog owners use the rest of the park as a dog bathroom, even on the paved path. And walkers use the road instead of the brand new path…
By far the best dog park in the area. People watch and control there dogs. Park is clean has a Brook for swimming and access to great hiking trails in McLean game reserve. A park where both the dog and there humans will both have a great time, and come back over and over.
Didn’t even get to the dog park, happened in during the last dog swim of the season- so much fun! Great job everyone. Happy tired pup!
This is a great dog park. Mulch is kept up and replaced yearly. Volunteers do a great job keeping the park clean. It also has access to great hiking trails, a brook, and Salmon Brook Park which all require the dogs to be leashed. They do have a rule against children under eight for there safety, because the dogs really get going fast and colisions can occur. Overall a really nice place to bring your best buddies.
Ok, the dog swims are amazing! Our dog loves swimming out for tennis balls! It costs NULL and worth every penny. It’s a great way to meet fellow dog owners and wear your dog out.
