Charles W. Lindewald Park is a popular community destination located in the heart of La Porte, Indiana, known for its welcoming, family-focused atmosphere and pet-friendly environment. With expansive green spaces, beautiful mature trees that offer ample shade, and easy wheelchair accessibility, this park is a comfortable choice for both residents and visitors seeking somewhere special to enjoy with their dogs.
The park features amenities such as picnic tables, public restrooms, barbecue grills, and a full playground, making it perfect for family outings. Dog owners will appreciate the pet-friendly attitude—while dogs should remain leashed as there is no designated fenced dog area, this location’s wide open areas and wooded trails provide space for on-leash strolls and outdoor adventures. Parking is convenient, shade is plentiful, and the park is kept clean and welcoming year-round, with adequate seating and restroom facilities available for all guests.
We have our family reunion here every year. This is the first year it has ever rained the way it did yesterday. The park is generally always clean, parking is adequate and the bathrooms were open. The kids always have room to run around and have the playground to play on. The only downfall ( mainly yesterday) there just wasn’t enough room for everyone once it started down pouring. Maybe another pavilion added wouldn’t be a bad thing
Nice place to watch my grandbabies play. Love all of the trees. They provide the perfect amount of shade. Great place for picnics.
Nice little park. Restrooms, picnic tables, a place to put up a volleyball net, and brand new playground equipment. Nice wooded area and a lake behind the park. Nice place for a family to spend a little time.
Very clean pavilion with 2 charcoal grills. Big enough playground for kids of all ages. They even have a little tykes mommy & me swing that my 14 month grandson loved! It was his first time on a swing and he loved that he could swing with his Mimi.
Nice park with a decent playground well suited for elementary age and younger. My kids are 8, 6 and 4 and enjoyed it.
