Spent the last 5 days at Thompson Causeway, COE Campground, in Thompson IL Nice place! We relaxed, made new friends, saw great sunsets, and spent time on the Mississippi. Road our bikes all over.

Perfect yet hot 3 day weekend over labor day. Bathrooms with shower within walking distance of campgrounds. Electricity hookups available. Just bring an extension cord. You may need a 50 amp to 20 amp adapter which can easily be found on Amazon. Wood bundles available nearby – NULL/bundle NULL/ five bundles.
Beautiful Spot, Lot 126, felt private, and it was quiet, and nature was singing 🙂

Shore fishing isn’t ideal for this area. Lots of seaweed.
This is a wonderful campground. All of the sites are cement slabs, and many have water and electricity.
The sites on the water side are little waterfront properties. Nature comes up so close. You feel like you can reach out and touch it.
A nature lovers delight. Prairies and bike paths nearby.
First time ever camping and my experience was amazing. This location is great, quiet, safe and has bathrooms and showers. the rangers and volunteers are beyond friendly. The other campers are also very kind. The wildlife and nature were so great to witness. If you’ve never been camping like me, this is a great first step!
