It’s been some 35 years since I first walk into charter oak landing during the flood season. I was fascinated about high the river was.
As a marathon swimmer who enjoys rivers and lakes , oceans and streams, I will say that the Connecticut River is one of the most unpredictable ribbons of water one could go in.
The park hasn’t changed much at all with picnic tables playgrounds, and people fishing off the edge under the charter oak bridge and other various past times.
I highly recommend anyone who loves nature but is close to the city… To just jump in their car and be at charter oak landing in a short time.
Enjoy the sunrise, and embrace the day!!
What a beautiful walking/running path along the Connecticut River here in Hartford. Very well-maintained and safe area to get out and about and exercise. Plenty of fishermen along the shores and lots of places to sit and watch the river go by. Go get some fresh air and clear your head!
Nice place to hang out and fish. Can’t wait until the weather stays consistently warm, fishing should be better…
