Legacy Dog Park is a well-loved dog park in Winchester, Kentucky, offering a spacious and welcoming environment for dogs and their owners. Conveniently located at 1115 McCann Dr, this dog park features two separate areas for small and large dogs, allowing your pup to play safely with others of similar size. Regular visitors praise its clean, grassy grounds, shaded seating, and friendly community of local dog owners. The park is easily accessible, making it a top choice for families and travelers alike.
Amenities include benches and chairs, plenty of shade from trees, and a dedicated water fountain with a bowl for dogs, plus a rinse station to keep your pup clean after playtime. Waste bags are provided, and the park is kept mostly tidy and mowed. While the walking track around the outside is leash-only, dogs are free to roam off-leash within the fenced dog park areas. Please note, there are occasional maintenance concerns, so always give the fencing a quick check, especially in the small dog area.
My dog and I love this place! It has a very large area for dogs to play. There are two sides, one for small dogs and one for large. It is popular in the evenings with a great community of regulars. A variety of ages and breeds frequent this park. They keep it mowed regularly and it has minimal waste lying around. There are chairs and benches for people to sit. There is a bowl water fountain for the dogs. They have some shaded areas for the hot days as well. This is a great park and I’m lucky to have this so close to home.
Traveling cross country…. Best dog park I’ve seen.
Huge space green grass very clean
Really impressed!!
I love taking my dogs to the park but if this wasn’t the only park within 30 minutes we’d never come here. The ground is regularly littered with broken glass and cigarette butts. During one of the busiest times of day, the landscapers will come in through a giant gate that dogs can easily run through if they wanted. I’ve been in denial because it is so convenient, but not anymore, this is just not a safe place to bring your dogs
They have a small dog and a large dog park. The small dog section does have a few places where the lowest part of the fencing has holes. One of these is in the gate. A dog any smaller than mine may have been able to crawl through.
A great place for your dogs to socialize, and for yourself if you want. There’s a safe area for smaller dogs but they’re also welcome in the main lot if the owners would prefer. I like to read the crowd with my small dogs, but so far they’ve loved running with the big dogs.
Trees provide plenty of shade with seating for humans. There’s water for the dogs, and even a place to rinse them off if needed. No rain coverage, though, so bring your umbrella.
Waste bags are provided for the dogs and restrooms are a short walk away down at the children’s area. The walking track outside the dog park is leash only but dog friendly.
