Pretty place to take some photos.

Nice place to come and walk the dog off-leash. The place is an Island and the dog can’t really leave the area, except by the one way in, the bridge.
There is a nice path that goes around the Island and there are many friendly people with their dogs as well. We met nice people who taught us about the site’ history.
Also a good place to grab a pik-nik with your family
Thanks Portsmouth, you have lovely parks. We’ll be back.

This is a great area in Portsmouth. It has a great playground for the kids with plenty of room to run around. You can walk along the river, in summer you can swim in the pool. There’s a boat launch and an off leash dog park further down.

Beautiful? Yes. A dog park? NO. No fencing, no other dogs in the middle of a Saturday afternoon, nothing but some construction workers and beautiful sites. This is not a dog park by any means. It’s just a really nice walk for you and your pup

I have been visiting for decades! It has only improved over the years especially the municipal pool, trails, playgrounds and parking. The views as well since the piers and surrounding old houses have been upgraded in appearance.
The views of the PORTSMOUTH, I don’t care what the Supreme Court says, NAVEL SHIPYARD are still the same. When the Coast Guard cutter and subs are docked, it can be more interesting.
Well maintained area.
Municipal pool is clean, well staffed and the men’s locker room is a mix of new amenities with a slightly beaten up shower areas and lockers. The shower water was cold! Brrrr! The pool is huge and runs deep with lots of space. Lifeguards are on constant watch! Lots of seats.
Three dollars for non-residents. Good price. Cash only.
Volleyball area available.
The main trail is the Eastern End Trail. It’s called the Northern Trail or Waterfront Overlook on Google Maps. It’s a great trail to bring the kids or Fido! Stroller friendly but a wheelchair may have a problem traversing.
Boat ⛵ launch available.
Commercial fishing 🎣 pier is still active. Four Tree Island a great area for a picnic 🧺.
You can see 🙈 all three of the bridges from the shore.
Update: June 2025; The Waterfront Overlook has great views!
I recommend a visit! Open year round!
