Wonderful lakefront park to experience Thunder Bay. It’s a gathering spot for Alpena. We stopped by on a Friday evening for music. Very nice. He’s the downside – no public restrooms yet. The city is building then now so that will be a great addition.
This is a really good area to bring your dogs to get some exercise and you have some dog muttmits to pick up after your dog goes to the bathroom. They’re also is a area right next to the dog park for small dogs or puppies to let them go to bathroom and run around and be safe. I helped build this dog park many years ago when I worked for the recreation department. There was basically two other people and myself that built this park and we had a fence company put the fence around area so that no dogs could get lost or escape from their owners. It is a really great park. I used to take my own dogs there also and so did my friends.
Small dog area is small and kind of unfair when you see the big dog area… Nice area & atmosphere though.
Lovely park. Quiet and friendly vibes. Came on a beautiful spring morning. Met many friendly dogs and owners
Was a good size dog park with ample seating, plenty of bowls and dishes for water, running water for filling them up, double entry gate, separate area for smaller dogs, shade by shelter or trees. It hadn’t rained too recently so I don’t know if it wouldn’t be muddy or not, but I probably wouldn’t go after a fresh rain. I will go back as it was nice and plenty of room for lots of pups.
