This was my first time going to the river in Cedar Hill Park and it didn’t disappoint! My dog Buster had an absolute blast. He’s dog & kid friendly but would rather just jump and run around in the water than play with anyone else. There were other dogs there two being off leash two being on leash. All the dogs behaved and good. Buster kept a close eye on the kids and other families making sure everyone knew he was the lifeguard lol. There is a very strong current so if you bring kids just make sure they don’t swim out too far or have a life jacket because I was told there’s an undertoe if you do go in the current but I wasn’t going to test it. That being said people with life jackets and floaties went down the current like a water slide lol. The sand/rocks get hot so make sure to bring some type of shoes. Everyone there was friendly and welcoming and didn’t mind Buster playing in the water with them. Everyone loved him and I plan to go a 2nd time soon! This time I’m going to try and bring my other dogs as well!

A great place to hang out by the river, or have a picnic lunch

River side area looked nice. We didn’t get to swim, but there were several groups there wading, as well as people fishing. Could probably use some more trash cans.. The parking lot was pretty filthy with lots of trash and even a dirty diaper.
