Great little fishing hole and nice spaced out primitive campsites. I had T-Mobile and ATT LTE on the hill sites, no service in the lake valley. Not sure why others were saying it’s free, standard IL state fees.
Great fishing spot under the trees had grill for picnic and next to waterpump
Off-season camping but no info board if camping was free or not. We honestly looked for an “iron ranger” to pay bit nothing to be found. Oh, well, free camping! Being the off-season, there was only one other camper, and they camped up on top while we were lakeside. During season, it would be as pleasant as the sites are very close together. Everything was very clean and well maintained.
Good park for the kids. Lots of different camping spots and fishing areas. BBQs all over. Water is also available. Many trails to walk in a day. Great place for horses too! Beautiful surroundings. Will definitely be going back.
Excellent campsite and a scenic view! Campsite was NULL/night, about average for the area. Overall a 10/10 camping experience and will be returning!
A note on firewood: firewood is not available through the host, and the surrounding area is protected so gathering firewood from the woods is frowned upon. Multiple businesses nearby will deliver to your campsite for a fee, and you can bring firewood in as long as you burn it all.
