Located at 1285 W Carl Sandburg Dr, Project Dog Park – Connie Nott Canine Area is one of the largest and most popular dog parks in Galesburg, Illinois. This pet-friendly destination is set back from the road with a welcoming tree-lined entrance and offers a safe, wheelchair-accessible environment for dogs of all sizes to play, socialize, and burn off energy.
The park features multiple fully fenced areas, including separate spaces for large dogs, as well as for small, senior, or puppy dogs. Owners enjoy convenient seating on bone-shaped benches while watching their pets play off-leash. Waste bags are supplied for clean-up, and wheelchair-accessible parking is available. While there is a water fountain, it is located outside the fenced area. The park is well-maintained, regularly cleaned, and highly recommended by local dog owners for both exercise and relaxation.
Nice park set back from the road, chain link fenced in area for dogs and their owners. Very nice place for dogs so they can run and play with other dogs if they are nice. There are two sections that are fenced for dogs to run around in.
Either myself or husband takes my dog here every evening. Its a great place to get your dog off leash and to sit and relax while your dog gets exercise. I love our dog park. I do wish they would unlock the gate on the 3rd section of the fenced in area. It would be nice to be able to use that area.
Project Dog Park is one of the larger dog parks I have visited with my pup. Like most dog parks, there are different areas for large and small dogs.
Pros: Unlike most dog parks, this one has two different fenced in areas for large dogs. At times one of them maybe closed to allow the grass to re-grow. According to a sign, the small dog area also welcomes puppies and senior dogs. This is helpful for older dogs who may not be as active. There are plenty of bone shaped benches for the hoomans to sit on while supervising their dogs in all three areas.
Cons: The dog water fountain is outside the fenced in area. This forces dog owners to leash up their dog and “leave” in order to let their dog get water. If your dog is not registered in Galesburg, you must purchase a NULL pass from off the premises at the City Clerk’s Office which is located across town.
Project Dog Park (Connie Nott Canine Dog Park) is a spectacular outdoor facility to bring my Dog Hazel for her morning, afternoon, and weekend walks.
This was a huge hit with my dog! This was a clean, very large open space with multiple fenced areas for large dogs and another for puppies or smaller and older dogs. It was well stocked with bags for clean up and had nice benches for people to rest on. Would definitely recommend!
