There is something here in this refuge for all outdoor enthusiasts. The Patoka River flows through portions of this area and is great for kayaking. There are acres of wetlands that are great for birding. Trails through many areas include bottomland hardwood forests. It is very well managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

This is one of my favorite natural sites. It’s got wetlands, woods and prairie, and it is so diverse. This makes it a feast for the senses. Although there is some elevation here, it’s not terribly strenuous and the paths are maintained.

A really nice place to just go and get away from the busy times of life. My sons and I enjoyed the trails and great place to walk your pet. I do think they need some trash cans because some jerks always leave their trash.. Maybe bring your own bag next time you come and help clean this place up 😉 I’m going to
