Upper Douglass Dog Play Area stands out as one of the best dog parks in San Francisco, CA, offering expansive views of downtown and a spacious, fully fenced area for dogs to play safely off-leash. This dog park is cherished by local dog owners and dog walkers alike, making it a welcoming community hub for both pups and their people. The large grassy field, surrounded by a perimeter trail perfect for pet-friendly walks, allows for plenty of exercise and socialization opportunities.
Pet owners appreciate the benches and seating areas that line the park’s edges, providing comfort while watching their dogs play. The concrete-based water fountain helps keep the mud down, though the park can get muddy after rain. The park is wheelchair accessible and well maintained, closing Wednesdays for upkeep and remaining closed from winter through early spring. With its panoramic views, chill vibe, and strong community spirit, Upper Douglass Dog Play Area is truly a gem for dog lovers looking for dog-friendly parks or hiking in San Francisco.
Amazing , safe, dog run area for big and small dogs alike…dog walkers use a lot, [ dosent personally bother us], it does impact the play area at times, but no biggie
Gets muddy @ this time, closed on Wednesdays, and will close during Winter through to early Spring, …I’ve been taking dogs here since high-school
Always a great place!!! Thanks to all the awesome dogs and their humans!
This is the best dog park in SF hands down, also with the best view of downtown. My family considers this place Dog Disneyland. It’s closed for maintenance on Wednesdays and is well loved and kept. Everyone does their part to make sure it stays as nice as it is. So if you go, please do your part!
Easily the best dog park in the city. Awesome view, fully fenced in so you don’t have to stress about your dog running off. The people are chill, and there’s usually a good mix of dogs to play with—or plenty of space if your dog just wants to do their own thing. Definitely a go-to spot.
The most picturesque dog park in the city. An elevated hiking trail circumnavigating the park, panoramic views, and an expansive field.
My dog had one of the top 34 days of his life visiting this park.
This is the best Dog park in the area with a huge grass field and a single short trail around the perimeter. Benches and chairs line the edges and the water fountain is on concrete keeping the mud level down. The only problem is they close the park for the winter!
