The trailhead I saw for Mule Deer was by the Nature Center, but you can also access it through how Google Map has it marked.
The way I did the trail was start at the Nature Center and then I found the Mule Deer Trailhead at that end and there is a box where you can pay your fee to walk the trail (provided you haven’t paid already at the nature center). From there- if I recall correctly- you can either go left and that takes you to the South Trail…or you can go right (which is a better choice in my opinion…) and that takes you down the main portion of Mule Deer- which is a straight in and out trail. You pass by the horse stable sign and see glimpses of the winding road and mountains all around you in the horizon- beautiful photo opps. Then, you can see the windmill in the distance. From there, you can continue walking and that is where the trail ends- close to the Wild Life Trailhead area (which is where Google Maps marks the trailhead for Mule Deer to be). From here, you can turn back to return to the Nature Center… or you can go down the Wild Life trail which is about a half mile. This allows you to enjoy views of the windmill close up and the small pond.
The only thing I’m not too much a fan off is the in and back style of the trail and how it is pretty much flat and straight, so it can be boring on the way back..

Very nice trails out here. They take good care of the trails and the restrooms are so nice and clean. There’s no graffiti and smell nice. The picnic areas are clean too. If you visit please use the barrels for junk garbage and please don’t litter here as we work hard to keep it as clean and pristineas possible. This is for our visitors and the animals that live here. This is one of a few places the animals have left to be wild and free in. Also please don’t speed as hikers and bikers and animals are on the roads out here. Thank you.

I wish they could just stock it with some sunfish

I didn’t walk the Mule Deer trail today but opted for the short Block Rock Loop. It was a great little hike but I had to leave so I had to rush today. Well maintained and not busy at all.

Great trail takes you to a pond and wind mills. It is a very nice little trail that is well traveled.
