We were traveling thru the area and staying at a local rv park. Needed some dinner. Tried the Cactus Bar – they no longer serve food so they recommended this diner. The diner was closed but we ate on the bar side. The wait staff was very busy but helpful and friendly. We had kind of low expectations given it was late night, but my goodness the food was DELICIOUS! We ordered six bone in wings (special) with the salt & vinegar dry rub – they were crispy but juicy – yummy! And we each got a burger. We tried the Arizona burger and the Patty melt. The burger patties were top notch! The patty melt was one of the best I’ve had. Good bread, lots of carmelized onions, gooey cheese. Yum!!! The Arizona burger was amazing too. I usually don’t like French fries that much but theirs were thick but crisp. Excellent. We would HIGHLY recommend this gem in the desert!!!
Side note: the interior can be a bit intimidating to walk into on the bar side as there may be pool players, etc but once you get inside and have a seat it is quite quaint and welcoming. Restrooms were clean and cutely decorated.
We did not stay at the motel as we have an RV.
I have lived in Salome for 5 years, and have been a patron of the Stanford inn ass a customer. The staff and all always been professional and acomading. Their menu is outstanding, I recommend the fried chicken dinner. Now I feel I have to get personal, I am a veteran and going through a divorce, I have a touch of ptsd and I am staying at the Stanford Inn. The room I in is absolutely beautiful and amazing. There is a hige Pease and love sign over the bed. A VW hippy van on the wall. Let’s just say a 7 tour combat vet going through a divorce felt peace for a few nights
We stayed here one night on an east-west coast road trip as a lay over. Not expensive, but not cheap… privacy is worth it! Felt safe. 4 hrs from LA. Great water pressure & constant hot water. Pet friendly. Microwave & mini fridge. Comfortable room. 2 comfortable beds. TV. No frills. Will visit again for sure. Wifi was so-so, maybe good for email. If WFH use Starlink. TMobile and AT&T not good in the area.
We showed up mid day with a large group (22) after a sxs ride. Our waitress Jennifer was so sweet and very attentive. The cook (owner) was very fast and the food was delicious! I had a Bacon Mushroom Swiss burger and it was delicious! My friend had the French dip and loved it.
We met friends here for lunch and had a great time. The Staff is very friendly and attentive, and the food is great. We had burgers, chicken strips, chicken qesadillas, and I don’t remember the rest. We all enjoyed our meals, and the atmosphere was exactly what I expected for a place that’s 50 miles from anywhere!
