We just happened to be driving through and I happened to see the sign and piece out of the corner of my eye. We immediately turned around. I couldn’t not go see it. 9/11 changed my life forever, as it did the lives of everyone around the world. I couldn’t pass up a chance to pay my respects.
For those of us who were involved with people in New York that day, this memorial was a surprise! Just seeing a small part of the building brings back a flood of memories of that event. I thought Gila Bend did a beautiful job in the design of the memorial and when you pass through this wonderful town, take a few minutes to stop at the 911 Memorial.
