Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Kiwanis Dog Park is a new addition to the list of great dog-friendly spaces in Tempe, Arizona. Conveniently located at 5233 S Ash Ave, this park offers local pet owners a dedicated off-leash environment where dogs can run, play, and socialize. With separate fenced areas for both large and small dogs, pet parents can rest assured pups of every size have a safe space to enjoy. The grassy areas are generous, giving dogs plenty of room to roam, and the friendly atmosphere is perfect for making new two- and four-legged friends.
Visitors will appreciate amenities like water fountains for pups, benches and limited shade for owners, water misters to keep dogs cool, and an agility section for extra fun and training. While there is street parking only, and some concerns about accessibility and shade in all sections, the park stands out for its community vibe and brand new facilities. If you are searching for a dog park in Tempe with dedicated spaces, agility opportunities, and welcoming locals, Kiwanis Dog Park is well worth your next outing.
First time there. People were friendly. It was a large grassy area with plenty of room for all the dogs. Most people cleaned up after their dogs. They have water fountains for the dogs, benches for the dog owners to sit and water misters/sprayers that look like fire hydrants to keep your dogs cool. There is also an agility area in the next fenced area to work with your dog. The only thing I feel is missing is a walking track for the dog owners to get some steps in while their dogs play and socialize. Recommend trying it out.
Beware the psycho lady with all white hair shoulder length. She verbally attacks people and polices people around. She literally verbally attacked me in the small dog area for bringing my medium sized dog there with my smaller dogs. She kept coming at me verbally I had no choice but to cuss her out. Apparently this isn’t her first encounter she’s done this with others at the park before. Instead of just telling me nicely that the dog shouldn’t be in that area she kept yelling at me and wouldn’t shut her mouth so I could peacefully collect the 3 dogs I had with me so I could leave. STAY away from her. One of these days she’ll run into a person who won’t tolerate her verbal abuse.
My dogs and I had a great morning at this park. It was our first time and we will definitely be headed back.
This dog park does not have a parking area, you have to park along the street… very dangerous, my dogs are puppies and sometimes they jump out the window and cars are coming, I already had one hit by an oncoming car😭 the ramp for my carriage/ handicapped is further down the lane very inconvenient… Only one small area with shade, that would be the small dog park area, the other two areas are without trees, shade and limited seating… Can’t wait for the other dog parks to open, this dog part is too dangerous😞
Brand new dog park! The big dog park layout is a little awkward but I love that Kiwanis has a dog park now! It also has an agility section and small dog:) all the pups and people have been super friendly! There is a seating section and a little bit of shade!
