Located in Kershaw, South Carolina, Campbridge Waterfall offers a distinct outdoor escape for dog owners and their furry companions looking for dog-friendly hiking trails in the area. Featuring a scenic waterfall (most active after rainfall), a peaceful stream, and a photographic cave, this pet-friendly park welcomes hikers with dogs on the southern hiking trail from 40 Acre Rock. The natural setting and relaxed atmosphere make it a great spot for families and dog lovers alike seeking adventure close to home.
While not a traditional fenced dog park, Campbridge Waterfall stands out with its accessible nature trail, tranquil ambiance, and unique views. The terrain can be a little rugged at times, so sturdy shoes are recommended. Families with children and dogs are known to enjoy the gentle hike, exploring both the trickling falls and the nearby cave — a favorite spot for photos and a cool respite on warm days.
The waterfall is only actively after we’ve had a significant amount of rain, and even then don’t expect a roaring mountain cascade. It’s more of a pleasant trickle at best.
Nonetheless, it’s still a place with it’s own quiet ambiance that gives a feeling of special significance. There is a small cave behind the falls, and a small creek that begins nearby. When the graffiti washes off, it is quite picturesque.
Family friendly trail! My kids enjoyed the trail leading up to the waterfall!
Beautiful place. I need to come back when the water is flowing! I was somewhat sad that the water was soooo low
You can get here by taking the southern hiking trail from 40 Acre Rock and it is so worth the small hike. The rock face along the waterfall is very easy to climb so if you want to you can climb over it and hike along the stream for a bit. There is also a graffiti-filled cave right beside the waterfall that’s great for taking pictures in. The entrance looks small, but its pretty big on the inside.
Whenever I’m traveling I always like to type in waterfalls near me on Google maps. This is one of the random waterfalls I was not sure what was going to be at the end of the trail which was adventurous and over many different terrains. I did it in sandals but most people should do it in some good hiking shoes or water shoes. Depending on water flow and rainfall this waterfall takes on different characteristics don’t forget about the hidden cave with the graffiti this is an absolute gem I could spend all afternoon with some lunch at the bottom enjoying music and relaxing
