First time here riding horses! A lot of the equestrian trail was pretty narrow, not allowing for side by side riding only following. there were several fallen logs in the way and a little mud. I am a new rider, so it was quite thrilling. The bathrooms are awesome! Showers are there. Look brand new and very well kept!
My horses had a good time! And the swamp was pretty. Just a little difficult for a new rider like myself. Giving 5 stars! I had a great time!!
Bring the fly spray if going in the summer. They also have a large show ring. And they do have a wider trail if you wanna avoid the fallen logs through the swamp. Just look at the map and decide your route before getting started! We were just winging it lol and had a good time!
Hidden gem! Picked this state park because it was on the way home. The trails and in particular the loop trail was very nice. The loop trail took you to a couple aquifers, past the Lynches river, and was mostly tree lined. The campground had the nicest bathroom I have been in for a State Park. Equestrian campsites in particular were quite large. Park staff were very friendly and helpful.
I am revising this review because somehow the rating was posted wrong.
We did an extended visit and had a blast. I forgot the current campground host’s name but he was wonderful!! He went above and beyond. Always seen him cleaning and interacting with other guests. Clean and tidy, always a great get away. (Edit: Ed is his Name)
We took our popup and had an amazing experience. The campground host was the best we’ve ever had. Super accommodating. Went for Pickin in the Park and LOVED it! We’ll be back next year.
Had a great time at Lee State Park! The park offers a variety of different activities such as multiple easy trails to hike, horseback riding and water activities just to name a few. There are also clean bathrooms and a playground for the kiddos. The highlight of the day was getting to see the 2 artesian wells along the fishing ponds, which was a cool piece of history! Overall a wonderful day in nature!
