Such a nice, quiet and fun place to be in! Barnwell is the least expensive state parks in South Carolina. There is a healing spring that is advertised outside of the state park, here is a little known fact: Barnwell has the same Artesian spring and I went searching for it with Park Ranger Ashley.

An absolutely beautiful and quiet campground. This place is so peaceful and full of history. This has become one of our new favorite places to go. The staff are very friendly and helpful as well. We will be returning in the near future! They have numerous places in the park to relax, eat lunch, and build a fire. We enjoyed the playground, fishing, and walking the trail. They also have horseshoe games and paddle boats. There is something for everyone to do! Thanks to the staff for making our stay more comfortable!

State park in barnwell S.C. built by the civilian conservation corps in the great depression. A remote place to get away that includes hiking, fishing, camping, etc. There are multiple small-3 ponds to fish, swim, and relax and enjoy nature. CURRENTLY the pond near the front is under construction and is mostly drained. Hope they get it fixed soon.

Awesome visit!! I saw 3 male summer tanagers, an eagle, 1 red-tailed hawk, an eastern phoebe, and tons of butterflies! Chatted with some very nice fishermen, then talked to the ranger who was SO NICE and extremely helpful. He answered all my questions as best he could and never once rushed me. A totally wonderful expeience! Thank you Mr. Richburg!! It is greatly appreciated!!

Park was in a disarray, there was nothing really scenic about it. Looks like a hurricane passed through there. It was pretty much dead. There was litter on the trails, I was only there long enough to walk the trails and left. We did happen to see an alligator.
