Went there for my grandson flag football game. Nice park, clean restrooms, not much shade. Had a nice playground for the little kids.
Very nice park for young kids. My kids had a lot of fun playing here. Also, the play sets are big enough for adults to climb up and play with their kids. The ground is a rubberized mat, as opposed to stones or mulch at other places, which is great for smaller children that tend to get distracted in the dirt. Plenty of slides, swings, and things to climb.
Awesome park! Lot’s of space to run around the actual play ground its huge and very clean kids loves basketball 🏀 court, soccer ⚽️ field,
Woodland park is set pretty back off of Route 66, so you can’t see it from the street. That being said, there is no traffic to worry about with your kids.
Parking is directly up to the play ground, and there is plenty of it. The bathrooms are next to it, and are clean as far as play ground bathrooms go.
The play set seems fairly updated with all the things you would expect to see. There is also a smaller version for preschool age kids next to it. It is all set on that cushiony foam stuff, so you won’t spend half your time digging mulch out of your kids’ shoes.
There are a couple benches and at least one picnic table set around the big play set. There are also two pavillions set up nearby with plenty of picnic tables.
You will also find basketball courts as well as a walking path.
Overall, this is a great stop over for parents. You can kill an hour, and get lunch at a nearby restaurant just north of the park.
I honestly enjoy taking my kids to this park. Its more higher end I believe. The type of people who come here are nothing like the ones that go to the new park in bryan. I love that there is a walking path through the wooded area and many grassy sports sections.
