So pretty! Went on all the trails in early march, planning on coming back in the summer, too! Trails where we’ll maintained. I’m young, so I had no problem hiking, but there were a few spots others might not like. If you bring small kids, make sure you keep an eye on them. There are some big drop offs.

This is an amazing nature preserve. I was disappointed that the Pine Ridge and Lake View Trail loops were closed (until December 2023). The Calico Bush Trail had beautiful sandstone formations and lush green Hemlock trees. In contrast, the Salt Long trail takes you through a flood plain forest where Virginia Bluebells were blooming. The boardwalk area, stairs, and bridges made the hiking path easy to navigate. In total, we hiked about 3.2 miles. In the future, we would love to return and hike the ridge trails that were closed.
