Los Robles Park: A Simple Neighborhood Dog Park in Santa Barbara, California

Los Robles Park is a quaint, open green space located on Via Diego in Santa Barbara, CA. While it is not a dedicated dog park, it is a pet-friendly spot where leashed dogs are allowed to enjoy a stroll on the grassy area. This park provides the basics—a quiet retreat for local dog owners seeking a place for their pets to sniff around and socialize with minimal distractions. The gentle slope and wild grass areas are popular among dogs interested in exploring natural scents and, as some reviews mention, chasing after gophers in the grass.

Although Los Robles Park lacks amenities such as fenced dog areas, agility equipment, or playgrounds, its wheelchair accessible entrance and open, simple layout make it a convenient option for nearby residents and those looking for dog-friendly areas in Santa Barbara. Shade is limited in the park itself, but the surrounding neighborhood features tree-lined streets that offer relief from the sun before or after your visit. This spot is most suitable for dog owners who prefer a laid-back, communal greenspace rather than a full-service dog park.

Lots of gopher’s on the slope to street my rat terrier would have loved it!🐾

Simple open space. No amenities

James W

Wild grass, no playground or ball diamond. Maybe good for dogs? Might as well be used for more houses

M VL

A nice neighborhood greenspace, but no playground or play structures. Gophers have made lots of holes in the grass.

It’s such a little patch of nothing in a neighborhood full of overflowing trees. There are no trees in this little patch they want to call a park. The neighborhood is lined with shading trees that keep out the sun and heat. The most this patch is good for is just to sit down on the grass late in the evening.
