Goleta Beach Park offers a spacious, relaxing seaside environment perfect for dogs and their owners. Located in Goleta, CA, it features access to a beach area where dogs may enjoy swimming and playing off-leash. I hope this beach stays as it is. Quiet nice trails, easy to find parking. Hidden gem in Santa Barbara County
Seems this lovely beach area is continually in flux. Its been long years of different reconstructions.
Lately the park is an odd combination of invasive weeds with foxtails, stickers and fences with newer grass and other plantings that cannot be used.
The bathrooms are open and functional but can be soaking wet, even the toilet paper is soaking wet with toilets very difficult to flush.
The pier is very nice for fishing and taking in the view. It’s tended to be a lot cleaner and more pleasant for walking on now with less multiple but unattended hordes of fishing poles and debris now that the restaurant is finally open (at least for lunch.)
The beach itself has undergone structural changes over the years, some good, some not. The birds and sealife have tended to return but there are still problems.
This park often seems to be more of an experimental process to remedy it’s many issues than a place to simply enjoy. Its unclear why so much effort has not resulted in a completed project. Perhaps some day soon, it will be truely beautiful once again.
My favorite beach in Goleta! The right side often has more people but if you go far on the left it is pretty deserted and quiet. Dogs on leash unless it’s a week day and no lifeguards are there.
Spaciously long beach, nice views, quiet and pretty clean except for lots of driftwood, dried hydrozoans all over with a slightly rickety pier. People were nice and very dog friendly. The park was fenced off for some reason but there were still a couple places to grill outside the fenced area.
The restroom not clean. The beach not clean. But there was play ground for the kids and u have to make reservations for the spot in holiday. Good spot for fishing 🎣 . There’s bike lane and spacious parking lot. 🅿️
