Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Wiggley Field is a spacious, welcoming dog park located at 325 Whit Davis Rd in Athens, Georgia. This pet-friendly park is a favorite spot for local dog owners, offering three large, fenced-in dog parks with plenty of open field space, play areas, and pet-friendly trails through the woods. It’s known for its friendly community atmosphere, and is easy to access with both wheelchair accessible entrances and parking available. Restrooms, picnic tables, and good for kids amenities are situated close by, making it a convenient choice for families and pet lovers alike.
One of Wiggley Field’s unique draws is its layout: there are three distinct, spacious sections to keep dogs of different sizes or temperaments comfortable and safe. Pet water access is available via a nearby outdoor faucet, and there’s lots of room for off-leash running, enrichment, and exercise. While the park boasts tall grass and natural areas for exploration, shade may be limited in some sections, and users should bring their own waste bags as some reviews mention fewer provided poop stations. Public restrooms and kid-friendly areas make it a great destination for a day out with the whole family.
3 huge parks with tons of enrichment. Lenny had a blast! Will definitely make it a weekly visit weather permitting. Clean bathrooms at the nearby playground and trails in the woods too.
Visited on a day trip from Atlanta. Amazingly spacious. Nice people, above and beyond the usual ill-behaving humans. Wish the entrance was adjacent to parking and the water fountains were inside the gates.
I took my two dogs to this dog park and they had a blast. The dogs and people there were all extremely friendly. The only things that kept me from giving 5 stars is that people don’t seem to pick up after their dogs and there was poop everywhere and the grass really needs to be cut. Otherwise, we had a great time and plan to return often.
Lots of poop that owners don’t pick up, especially along the path to the dog park. Nice big fields! Water was at a faucet. The dog had a blast. Nice place to exercise your pup.
Three separate dog parks here. Water is available from a fountain outside the enclosures. There’s tons of running around space, including tall grass areas in two of the parks. The only downside is limited shade.
