Nice loop trail approximately 3.5 miles. It was a beautiful rainy winter afternoon (almost spring -March 18, 2021) and I passed only two couples on the entire trail. Gorgeous, dense redwood trail once you get onto the Golden Spike Trail; otherwise open rolling green hills with nice vistas of small valleys. Starting from the parking lot just to the right of the Richard C. Trudeau Training Center I took the Serpentine Prairie Trail to the Dunn Trail then turned left onto the Golden Spike Trail. I then took a left onto the Monteiro Trail and again turning left onto the Dunn Trail which led me back to the same parking lot.

This is a lovely walk among redwoods. The dirt trail is well maintained and can get a bit narrow in places.

Nice trail
clean, quiet
Bring water and snack

This is a good trail, because there are various routes that could increase the total distance hiked. The ground can be a little sketchy here and there, since this is mostly horse trails. Wide trails so good to come as a group. People have their dogs with them and all dogs are off leash.

This is a nice trail for Summer, because there are a lot of trees. Most of the time you walk in the forest. And you can easily find off road parking, but don’t leave your valuables in the car.
