Lots of fun exploring the trail and the creek. Even though it’s late September it’s still pretty warm and green. The hike is well marked and maintained. The kids had a blast playing in the water. A great slice of nature in the city!

The leaves are squeezing orange, lemon and lime colors! One of my fave places for Autumn this year. It’s sort of a wet day and the steps are a bit slippery but my 4 year old niece puddles through it. She’s thrill of the “rain shower” leaves pouring over her. It’s magical to watch her in awe of nature’s beauty! I think this place is breathtaking! Definitely coming back next peak Autumn!

This nature preserve has good views of the creek, forest, and trails. The trails are well maintained but they can be a bit steep for a beginner, but would be perfect for someone who walks regularly. Also, there are several deer trails that branch off of the main path so if you’re not careful you can wander off the trail. It’s right off the highway, which is both good and bad because you can hear some road noise throughout the park. I went on a cool fall weekend and it was not crowded at all. Overall, I had a great experience!

Caldwell Nature Center is an amazing preserve. I love how dense everything is, a very rich forest with plenty of lush trees and native plants. The trails are very nice and easy to follow, the preserve is small, but has numerous trails that make the area feel much larger than it is. I love the steps and bridges you can find and there are numerous trails that lead to the river and creeks. A great place to hike for a few hours and lose yourself in the rich greenery!
