Looking for a tranquil, dog-friendly park in Oakland, California? Oak Glen Park offers a peaceful retreat for pet owners and locals alike. Nestled along Richmond Blvd, this pocket park is known for its beautiful, natural environment reminiscent of the cool dampness of the redwoods in Marin, complete with a small stream. It’s a lovely location to walk your pups, relax among the trees, or enjoy a picnic in the limited but well-maintained grassy areas.
This park is accessible and open to children (playground and swings available), making it a popular neighborhood spot. Please note the park is relatively small, and though it is generally clean and safe, visitors are encouraged to stay aware of their surroundings and watch out for potential dog waste. The park allows dogs and is wheelchair accessible, offering a welcoming outdoor experience for families and their pets.
Small park with a creek running through. Couldn’t find a trail to walk along, as the brush was pretty overgrown. There are a few small, nice grassy areas to have a picnic.
Lovely environment, but the park itself is pretty small. There is a small stream deeper into the park, down a steep trail. Was a bit hard go get down there, but once I made it down, it was gorgeous.
This is more of a beautiful median between two sides of a street, but it is gorgeous, plus there is a swing someone put up which is so fantastical because it is lifts you up to the trees! Definitely explore!
Just moved and this is our neighborhood park. Amazing pocket neighborhood that slightly reminds me of damp coolness of the redwoods in Marin. I walk my pups here every day. Its lovely and mostly clean. Feels safe, but be aware of your surroundings as always.
I saw some pretty things but had to watch out for poop. Dog or human not entirely sure so there was that so it sort of balanced out I guess
