Beautiful. Close to no flow at the falls this week. (Oct 15), but we are at the yearly low. Pleasant area, picnic areas and grass spread around.
There are a lot of awkward stairs on this hike, but it otherwise fairly easy. I appreciated that it was one way because there were a lot of people on the trail, even in the afternoon of a weekday. All of my photos were framed to avoid the dozens of people also photographing the park. It was pretty and fun to hike, but next time I need to get there much earlier.
This is the start of the trail (obviously).
Set your GPS to the parking lot south of here/here. The loop back up is kind of challenging if you aren’t ready for it, just be ready to maneuver “climb” a bit. Bring good hiking shoes.
Parking lot is really busy, but just be patient and you’ll find something.
Beautiful. One of the spots you need to see. Tons of water flowing after a rainy spring day.
Magical scenic views, around 30 min walk from start to end, good place for old people to hike, highly recommended
One of the best trails in Hocking Hills and largest falls by volume. Pet and kid friendly. Restrooms available. Go early or late evening on the weekends. Lots of people park in the tiny lot at the top of the falls just off the road thinking it’s the only parking- continue on 100 yards or so to get to the main large parking lot.
