Mitchell City Park

Honestly, this playground is nearly the most enjoyable in all of Lawrence County in my opinion! Its layout and wooden-build is unique in comparison to the out-of-date playgrounds in Bedford. Only downside is I have yet to find an accessible restroom; that could be different with the seasons. There are 2 horizontal tire swings!

Great playground for kids. Well maintained especially for a public park. They have tennis, basketball courts and an outside gym. They have a nice shelter house with picnic tables on a poured concrete slab. They also have a pool that is open in season. Restrooms are available and have beencleanwhen we have been there. Definitely a hidden gem in Mitchell!!

I mainly was at the swimming pool! Bathrooms could use doors that close as all doors either stayed open or was locked even with people not in the stalls.

What a gem! Hidden in this little town is a park full of great equipment. Castles for children to climb and workout equipment for is grown ups. Or if you feel fancy, a game of tennis.

We visited this park with our kids during a family visit to Mitchell over the holidays. It’s a nice park, but the play structures are aging and have seen better days. One of the swing structures visibly flexed and shifted several inches while in use. The park also has a neat body weight workout area in a converted outdoor tennis court space with lots of simple machines that were fun to explore and use. With some TLC and some much needed maintenance, this could be a really great park for kids.
