Henson Creek Park is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts and their furry companions located in Camp Springs, Maryland. Known for its wheelchair accessible paved trails, this park offers pet-friendly hiking and long, scenic walking paths, making it a great spot for dog owners who love to explore the outdoors. The trails connect to several neighborhoods, allowing convenient access for local residents.
The park is well-maintained, featuring ample free parking, trash bins along the route, picnic tables, and various sports amenities including baseball and football fields, as well as basketball and tennis courts. Families will appreciate the kid-friendly atmosphere and the presence of playgrounds and open spaces. Although dogs are allowed at Henson Creek Park, they must be kept on a leash at all times to ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment.
I drove to this park and walked on the trail just to find out that it’s connected to my neighborhood! So if you live in Huntley Square, one of the trail paths starts around building 3310 I think. It also connects to 2 other neighborhoods, but I don’t know their names. 😕 The path was long and I loved it. I went from the baseball diamond all the way to the park with the basketball and tennis courts and the pond where the geese were.
There are trashcans along the route along with corner mirrors for you fast bikers. Great trail for biking and walking. I’ll definitely be going back.
Wonderful trail … walking/ biking …. easy parking… Dog owners keep their dogs on a leash!! 💯
Absolutely favorite park at the moment. From the views to the trails. Clean and quiet; Great for walking, biking or running. I only made it to about .85 miles and then I walked back but my goal is to get further everyday.
I love that this trail is paved but beware of your small pets because, I saw a fox crossing the paved road. I also love seeing the many different dragonflies 💖, because they’re getting rid of all the mosquitoes.
This was a perfect find! I wanted to exercise but be outdoors and have nice scenery, and this trail gave exactly that. The only downside was the amount of gnats, but that’s nature so there isn’t much you can do about that.
The trail is mostly flat and you can hear all the sounds of the outdoors along with the sound of the creek.
Plenty of people walk the trail, and there is a football field for other sporting events.
Parking is free and even with a game happening I was still able to find a spot. You can also enter the trail from multiple points.
