Never fails, I go there after being told I have to stop because of Heath reasons, didn’t even make it to the bridge physically, but the never failing scenery…
But the the scenery, made the physical unnecessary
Cool views of the Potomac and downtown DC in the distance. Be sure to bring hearing protection because the Woodrow Wilson Bridge trail is loud, The trail is adjacent to the roadway.
Took a run while traveling and this trail was a great out and back to National Harbor. Went over the Eisenhower Bridge and boarded the Potomac. Had a great view of the setting sun.
Perfect paved path for running, walking, cycling. Dogs welcome. Great views, wild life. You may get lucky and see an eagle flying overhead. Seagulls are drawn to plastic bags so don’t bring plastic.
We walked the trail beginning at National Harbor, skirted the little bay and up the circular path to the pedestrian/bike bridge going over I-495 beltway. What a beautifully maintained trail. Walking along the water is so soothing. The landscaping is so well done. All kinds of trees and shrubs. Annuals and perennials. Lots of plant info and historical info on plaques along the way. The views are spectacular of National Harbor, Alexandria and Washington DC. (The traffic noise is not too bad on the Maryland side. ) Highly recommend this trail. Easy going. Great views. And explore National Harbor while you’re there. Lots of paid parking, restaurants and shops. Don’t forget to walk thru the Gaylord Hotel and Convention Center.
