Maryland City Park offers a dedicated and free dog park in Laurel, Maryland, making it an ideal spot for local dog owners looking for a safe, social, and fun space for their pets. The fenced-in dog area provides plenty of room for dogs to run off-leash, with separate sections for both large and small dogs. While the sections are unlabeled, regular visitors say responsible owners utilize them well. Situated near pet-friendly trails and public amenities, the park is known for its accessibility, cleanliness, and welcoming atmosphere for both humans and canines.
Owners will appreciate the thoughtfully maintained grassy areas, community-supplied poop bags, and regularly mowed grounds. While features are fairly basic—there’s no agility equipment or extensive shelter—there is a working water fountain nearby, though it’s outside the dog enclosure along the trails. The park is wheelchair accessible, has public restrooms, and even features a playground for families. Ample free parking and picnic-friendly areas make this a great spot for a full day outing with your dog and family in Laurel, MD.
No sign directing where to go to the doggy park.
But very clean park for children and dogs.
Water fountain has a slow flow of water, so I bring my own.
Always dog bags on the fence and owners replacing them as they are used. Grass is trimmed regularly and there is a dog fountain!
I absolutely loved this dog park and so did my fur-baby.
The two issues was that we couldn’t find it at first — I ended up having to read a google review to figure out where it was.
The second one was the water fountain is outside of the dog park.
(it is on the trail behind the baseball fields, make a left and go down the wooded area, you’ll see it)
Absolutely my favorite dog park. The water fountains work now! They turned them off for winter. The grass gets mowed on a regular basis. They have a small and large dog section. Very responsible dog owners come by.
Nice fenced-in area for dogs to run around and separate sections for large and small dogs but it is unlabeled. There aren’t many other features but it IS free so there are often plenty of other dogs there. Not much else in the park though.
