Love Buckeye lake 💙.
Been fishing 🎣 there my whole life. lived right one the lake growing up. Here’s a few trips this year. 2025.
Love hitting the trail here, paved road for walking or bike riding! About a mile from the parking lot is a cool dock and area with picnic tables, trash can, and poo bags if ya can’t hold it lol
1 downfall is trash cans. It’s a long way between them, so if you pick up trash along the trail, you are walking with it for a bit.
Parking at the Point was impossible. There was maybe 4 regular spots and 4 handicapped. Should just make that the handicapped park and then we know to go to the one down the hill from the start. There was trash all around the point. I was very disappointed. The highlight was a mama duck and 8 babies stopped to say hello. PLEASE CLEAN UP YOUR ACT BUCKEYE LAKE. Very shameful. The area in the pics is clean because I spent most of stay sacvking garbage and throwing it in dumpster about a block away… so maybe chain trashcan to center of point where it might actually get some use?
Very peaceful, and spread out for people to do all kinds of different things. I’m sure it is super busy during the summer, we’ve gone a couple times in early spring and there aren’t many people there. If you are there for the trail next to the lake, I recommend parking on the east side. The trail from the east parking lot to the north lot is flat and 4 miles one way. The houses are beautiful, as is the water.
This state park is alright, but it’s nowhere near five stars unless you own a boat here. The pathway is paved, so it’s great for wheel chairs. There’s no shade on it at all. One of the best features is all the interesting architecture of the homes along the path.
