Nestled inside the William E Smith Playground, Soldiers Field Road Dog Park is a popular destination for dog owners in Allston, MA. This fully-fenced, dog-friendly spot offers separate areas for both large and small dogs, making it a great choice no matter your pet’s size. Visitors appreciate the water fountains (including water bottle refill stations for both dogs and people), ample trash bins, and conveniently supplied poop bags. The park’s location, tucked into a quiet corner near the sports coliseum and with nearby parking options including a gated lot and spaces near Trader Joe’s, makes it very accessible for local residents.
While many appreciate the space and separation for different dog sizes, some visitors caution that the park’s rocky ground may be tough on sensitive dog paws—something to note for pups prone to injury. You’ll want to keep a close eye on your dog as not all owners clean up after their pets. Still, if you’re looking for a dog park in Allston with essential amenities and plenty of room for social dogs to roam off-leash, Soldiers Field Road Dog Park is worth checking out.
Nice park for big dogs who might be too rowdy to hang out with little ones, since there are separate spaces for each. I still don’t know where there’s parking for it, though.
Pretty great space but some owners don’t pick up after there dogs so you really have to keep an eye on your pet to make sure they aren’t getting interested in someone else’s poo.
I’ve always hated this dog park but I’m finally reviewing it now after a NULL vet appointment. The rocks at these dog parks are awful for dog’s paws. The abrasion from them led to a bacterial infection in my dog’s paws. Don’t bring your dogs to parks filled with rocks. Would YOU want to walk around on rocks? I wouldn’t.
Just came back from the park. Very nice and separate areas for big and small dogs. Water fountains (including water bottle refill stations) for both dogs and people are included. Trash cans and poop bags are available. We parked near the Trader Joe’s but there is a gated lot nearby. Quiet spot as it is tucked in the corner of the park.
Really nice! You have to park inside by the coliseum.
