Horseshoe Pond is a scenic and peaceful destination located in Peninsula, Ohio, offering dog owners and nature enthusiasts a tranquil escape. Known for its beautiful pond, wooded trails, and abundance of greenery, this park is perfect for those looking to enjoy dog-friendly hiking and pet-friendly trails near the Cuyahoga Valley area. With its relatively quiet and less crowded atmosphere, it’s an ideal spot for enjoying quality time outdoors with your furry friends.
The park features amenities like wheelchair accessible parking, public restrooms, a pavilion, and picnic tables. Shaded areas, seating by the pond, and picturesque views make it easy for owners to relax while their pets enjoy the natural surroundings. While there isn’t a designated fenced dog area, the park provides a large open space and connected hiking trails, making it a favorite for on-leash nature walks. Note that trails can get muddy after rain; paved surfaces are limited to the parking lot.
Beautiful little pond, usually not a lot of people. Great for enjoying quiet and taking in nature.
This is a pretty little area with rest room and picnic facilities. It doesn’t look like it is used much.
Fun trail with some elevation changes but nothing drastic. I went recently in early February and the trails were very, very muddy. So do expect that. Nothing is paved or gravel except for the parking lot where a restroom is located in addition to a small pavilion on one side of the pond. Large wooded area of evergreens that show the history of the property being an old Xmas tree farm. Some neighboring properties offer views of current tree farms which add to the wooded landscape. The main loop is just shy of 4 miles I do believe.
Nice litter pond. Great for hiking when it’s dry. Doesn’t seem to be much but blue gills and turtles swimming though.
Small pond by The Tree Farm Trail. Nice little seat to sit by the pier also there is a pavilion and picnic table on the other end of the pond. Good little fishing hole. Restroom on site
