FAQ for CNY Canine Academy / Dogz Gone Wild in Baldwinsville New York:
It’s unfortunate that I have to write this, previously I was happy with most boarding stays and always happy with grooming. My pomsky has come home sick a few times, no biggie, paid the vet bills moved on. Although, this time around was a disaster. Charged for damages they can not prove my dog actually did, after 6-7 stays according to the owner, my dog is just a genius and the only dog to ever open a kennel and cause damage??? Nvm the fact they stated they placed him in the kennel (employee probably didn’t secure it) but because they noticed his nose touching the lock, they are assuming he became Houdini and opened the kennel to cause damage. I asked repeatedly to be called to make payment over the phone, multiple phone calls unanswered, and no response to emails. Then a few hours later, my card on file is charged with a damage fee. Few more hours later I receive a call from the owner, who was rude and had a nasty attitude for a pretty valid frustration that a paying, repeated customer had. Zero communication up until the first phone call and I was met with attitude and argument. They have zero proof my dog became Houdini and opened a kennel, the owner is going off of an employees assumption. NULL to me, isn’t going to break the bank. It’s the principle behind it. Zero communication, excuses, zero proof of anything, and totally unhelpful. The owner made sure to throw in my face that I signed a waiver which means they can charge me for any damages. BEWARE. They will not prove your dog damaged anything, from pictures the place isn’t a 5 star dog hotel by any means.Meanwhile, my dog was brought home by a family member and placed into his crate ALONE in my home, where he did not become Houdini and magically unlock a basic crate door and cause any damages 😀Be very careful trusting this establishment, I have had concerns before that I let go or never addressed so now they mean nothing. I always gave the benefit of the doubt, continued to support/trust this establishment just to receive this result.I am heartbroken to even be dealing with such a ridiculous situation and hope others can avoid. You’re signing a waiver that says they can charge you regardless of the facts, so beware. If my dog was put in a kennel for “less than 25 minutes” how did he cause damage to a door when I paid extra for daycareNULL Shouldn’t he be tired and not full of energyNULL None of it seems to add up and the owner didn’t care about my concerns, apparently NULL was worth the relationship built over the years. They claim that they “gain nothing” from charging someone ? for damages, so how do you feel good about doing it with zero proof and within 25 mins???? They were apparently extremely short staffed, wondering if my dog was left alone longer than they are telling me. Since he apparently became Houdini, unlocked a kennel door, and let himself out to cause damage. Previous damage to the door was very obviously painted over from the photo. Owner claims it’s more than ? of damage…. lol either my dog wasn’t secured and left along much longer than they are stating or there’s more to this. My dog is left to his crate, BASIC CRATE, for the work day and most evenings. ALONE. He doesn’t magically end up out of it and destroying things. I was told previously this place has cameras where all the kennels are, when I asked for the footage I was told there wasn’t any because “they weren’t expecting this”. Meaning my dog has never magically opened a kennel or caused damage. Now he magically does. Meanwhile he magically opened a kennel that “no dog has ever opened on their own”.There will be no video if you ever needed it for damage proof or anything pertaining to your dog, that’s a big NO from me.Tread lightly with this establishment! Ps. Seems like someone had a similar complaint as mine, which I find oddly convenient.
This is the best daycare/boarding services ever!! The owner and all their coworkers are absolutely AMAZING!! They care and look out for your pets, just like they were staying at home! I would recommend this place to anyone I know!Thank you all so much for your amazing services and treating our dog like it was her second home!! ❤️❤️
Myles has been going for about a year now and he loves it. He is a very anxious dog and the staff there worked with him beautifully. They did not throw him into a big group right away. The staff worked with him and his boundaries! Their trainer Jess is so personable and gives you a great one on one experience. The staff in the daycare/boarding/training/and grooming make sure you are getting the services needed for your dog’s personality. Myles utilizes every service offered and when we drop him off you will have peace of mind that your dog is in great hands! Myles loves the entire staff and runs right to the door excited. 10000/10 recommend this daycare to anyone who has a dog. They truly treat your dog like their own !
Mia has been going here an always has an awesome time playing with her friends! Mia is energetic and excited; Jessica and Val have worked with us, so Mia is happier and more relaxed. I recommend the classes, training day school and boarding. The staff is attentive and takes the best care of Mia! We can’t wait to start our Scentwork program in March!
Today was Pippa’s first day at day care. Tina greeted us both on arrival then took Pippa for a trial run with the group. I didn’t hear from Tina after an hour, so that was good… meant all was going well. Mid-morning I checked their Facebook page and was excited to see all the photos! There were several pics with Pippa in them so we had a glimpse of how things were going. It was just what we needed! I emailed midday regarding pick up, and Tina’s response was prompt and detailed. When I picked Pippa up, I received a nice synopsis of her day and given other helpful information. Plus, I received a ‘report card’ on her interactions and behavior. It was a very nice experience all the way around. Pippa will now be a weekly regular!
