FAQ for Lisbon City Park in Lisbon Iowa:
Enjoyed a pre-Labor Day picnic at the Lisbon City Park within sheltered picnic tables. Then enjoyed some reading time there. During my cookout, a lady stopped by to sit until her pizza was ready from the nearby Casey’s. She was friendly and asked about myself, and then we continued to talk about the Lisbon/Mount Vernon area(I’m not from the area). Nice to meet local friendly people.
Everything I look for in a good park: big shade trees, big playground, splash pad/wading pool, public bathrooms, plenty of seating and picnic tables… and and if the bathrooms happen to be closed, it’s half a block from a gas station.
Not many parks that have a water area for all to enjoy. The small town friendly atmosphere is totally that good ol’ mid-western vibe.
Downfall…absolutely no pets!Upside…the kids love how deep this splash pad is! It’s like a mini pool, and if you have a child that prefers dry over wet out of the bunch, there is a decent sized playground right next to the fenced in water area too! We always seem to end up at the playground as our final activity visiting this park when we go out there!
Beautiful park with the wading pool / splash pad it’s fenced in with a picnic table and a few benches. There are showers as well to rinse off after being in the water. Nice playground as well nearby. Plenty of parking. Baseball field and basketball court.
