FAQ for Kalona City Park in Kalona Iowa:
Very nice overnight stop. We appreciate the city and folks of Kalona for having this nice place for RV tourists. Electrical, water and access to dump stations (near the entrance/registration) is a gift.
We attended a girls’ softball tournament here. The diamonds were well maintained. There is a lunch stand and restrooms. The restrooms were a little overwhelmed, but there are others not far away in the campground. I would suggest adding a screen or net on the one diamond to reduce some foul balls.
It’s very well maintained. It’s really quite large. There’s picnic areas and pavilions. Baseball diamonds, tennis courts a swimming pool a campground, playgrounds. It’s a really nice peaceful area. Really hoping that they will put in a dog park. There’s plenty of room.
My Wonderful little village is a tourist venue with lots of Amish character. Go to the coffee house and general store if you venture no further though the antique stores are plentiful.
We had a lovely time visiting Kalona with our four young children (7,5,4, and 2). We found everyone to be very hospitable, and the City Park was full of playground equipment and very safe and well-maintained. There’s a large historical village which is closed Sundays (so plan accordingly) but is a great educational place to go!
